“The Wolf shouted to her, softening his voice a little: Pull the peg, the bobbin will fall. Little Red Riding Hood pulled the peg, and the door opened.”
Excerpt from the tale Little Red Riding Hood by Charles Perrault

The sculpture of "Little Red Riding Hood" is part of an in-depth exploration of the world of fairy tales, highlighting timeless morals and the complex boundaries between man and animal. In this reinterpretation of Little Red Riding Hood, I sought to capture a critical moment when the plot changes. It is a moment when the protagonist's innocence collides with reality, forcing her to doubt the trust she can place in this unknown wolf. Faced with the opening door, a dilemma emerges in her mind: should she show bravery or succumb to fear? This confrontation raises the ever-present question of caution and distrust of the unknown, fueling the narrative suspense.

This moment of internal tension is subtly translated through the portrait of the young and naïve child, whose cheeks still retain a childish roundness, but whose already questioning and determined gaze foreshadows the challenges that this adolescent will have to face, both within herself and in the vast outside world. By exploring the border between man and animal, I wish to raise questions about the nature of the wolf in this version of the tale. Is he really the big bad wolf, or is there a deeper complexity in his role? This ambivalence aims to challenge our preconceived perceptions and to underline the subtlety of moral choices. The midnight blue patina envelops the whole in a dreamlike atmosphere, evoking the charm of nocturnal stories that float between dream and reality.

By speaking to an intergenerational audience, my representation of “Red Riding Hood” aims to encapsulate the essence of this transitional moment where innocence confronts reality and the heroine begins to forge her instincts.

My journey began with studies in market finance in London and Ningbo, then with a career in international trade and digital marketing in Hong Kong and Paris.

One day, a family accident brought me to the Parisian studio of the sculptor Magali Nourissat. This manual abstraction immediately sparked a real passion in me.

I love the infinite possibilities of working with clay until I find the most appropriate emotion to freeze it in a bronze.

It is in tales and fables, a vector of moral education, that I find my main inspiration. Their imaginary power and their emotional power have therapeutic virtues to cross the ages and existential doubts. I see it as a form of return to the first visual narratives.

In my work, I like to have fun staying on a ridge line at the border of two worlds, that of Man and animal, to reveal both the bestial side of Man and the human side. of the animal.
