Original hand-printed by the artist Linocut of a wise Endangered Mountain Gorilla. Ed 50. From the Endangered Species Series. Each of my prints is hand-pulled by the artist onto archival, acid free cotton rag paper and signed, titled and numbered on the front. Suggested framed size: minimum 24 H x 20W in. or larger.
Linocut is termed an "original" printmaking technique because the original image is actually done on the medium and each impression is hand-pulled individually by the artist (or master printer) and belongs to a signed and numbered limited edition. Each print is an original. And each print retains its own specific character as inks blend in their own particular way. As with any of the other major original printmaking techniques --- etching, lithography, woodcuts --- a separate pull is required for each color deposit.

Jo Moore is a contemporary American artist known for her distinctive visual language characterized by depth, shadow, and intricately carved surfaces. Moore's work serves as a vessel for conveying a stoic spirit, using a variety of mediums such as impasto, wax, and pigment to evoke emotional responses from her viewers.

A lifelong studio artist, Moore finds solace, meditation, and serenity in her creative process. When she works with a clear mind, she feels a sense of stillness, becoming a vessel that quietly transmits stoic energy. She believes that a painting should not only be seen but also felt. Her artistic gestures are consistent with her perceptions, forming a visual language and vocabulary that remain constant.

Moore's recent focus has been on three-dimensional canvases, where she sculpts the image before painting it. She employs a brilliant color palette to create an emotional impact on her audience. With contemporary and abstract themes as her foundation, Moore uses numerous layers of texture and impasto combined with vibrant hues to produce a sculpted surface that exudes raw energy. Her canvases function as relief sculptures, adding depth and casting shadows over the sculpted surfaces within the composition.

All of Jo Moore's works are gallery wrapped or museum profile with painted edges, sealed, acid-free, and archival, ensuring their longevity and preservation. Through her art, she continues to explore and express the profound connection between visual perception and emotional experience.
