Jean-Marc POLIZZI was born on July 15th, 1958 in Tunis, arrived in France in May 1960. Very early, he starts to draw, then to paint. After high school , he does two years of specialization in advertisement
drawing (E.P.D.I. from 1974 to 1976).
Then he begins the first of his journeys to Latin-America which will later inspire a big part of his work. Based in Lima (Peru), he continues to study drawing with the Alliance Française and at the sametime he improves his painting in the workshop Cristina GALVEZ. Not only does he meet a lot of people such as Victoc HUMARED (Peruvian Toulouse-Lautrec), but he also has many enricheringmeetings : Szyslo (one of the precursors of the Latin-American abstraction) ; Nieves DIANDERA ; Shineand Enrique ZEVALLOS.
On several occasions, he exhibits and takes part in a prestigious artistic prize. Back in Paris during 1977, and full of these experiences, he lays the foundations of his pictorial
universe. He exhibits in many galleries until his second journey to South-America in 1982, then, once more at the Workshop-Gallery of Shine Zevallos.
The same year, in France, he meets the poet and plastic artist Christian LAVIGNE. In 1983, he starts-up with the latter the association « Artists without borders » The highlight of that moment was the edition of the original magazine « L’Art vu ».
1985, he joins the Maison des Artistes. From 1986 to 1988, he materializes his paintings’ characters by other means : jewels, clothing and postcards with limited edition.
From 1990, he exhibits again in many places. Since 2003, he appears in the ADAGP Bank of images catalogue. ( )
