JANE ELIZABETH GOMIS was born in the city of Nottingham, U.K., She was trained at Mansfield College of Art in Nottinghamshire. But for the last 25 years, she has lived and worked as an artist in Andalusia. She has become well-known for her watercolour interpretations of rustic Andalusian scenes such as gardens, cottages, village churches and the beautiful Andalusia flora such as hibiscus flowers and pots of geraniums, as well as for her highly detailed sensitively painted watercolours of private villas and homes. She constantly draws inspiration from her spectacular surroundings.

Jane has sold many paintings to people from all over the world, including England, South Africa, France, Germany, Holland and Spain.

She has participated in many exhibitions of paintings up and down the Costa del Sol and in the Balearic Islands in Spain.

Her more recent work reflects a developing interest in mystic themes and as a result shows a new brilliance, luminosity, joy, gentleness, energy and use of vibrant colour. Her most recent exhibition at The Gallery in Fuengirola, Spain in December 2007 called “Flowers and Angels” was a good example of this. It contained a mixture of bold angelic figures painted in acrylic on canvas, and strong expressive interpretations of flowers from Andalusia with some gentle and delicate but vibrant watercolours of angels and flowers, to lend a more subtle flavour to the exhibition.

Jane also works in the contemporary style with acrylic paint on canvas, developing ideas and inspirations in an array of unusual and attractive colourful convases with spiritual themes.

So, there is a painting of Jane´s to suit all tastes and interiors and to embellish any wall of any home. An original piece of art makes an ideal gift. This has been the motive of many buyers of Jane´s art. She will be happy to meet you at any time to discuss ideas for gifts or commissions.

She works from her studio at her home in Calahonda, Mijas Costa, Málaga, Spain.
