Jef

Maputo, Mozambique
Artist (Digital Arts)
Born 1959

Half Vietnamese, half French, I’m born in Senegal West Africa in 1959. In Paris I studied 3D at The ADAC Paris Ateliers in 1990 and I was impressed by the creative use of visual computing. For a long period of time I wasn’t able to use those technologies for creating art but was only writing lines of programs.
I have been selected for the following exhibitions:
Red Cross Summer Exhibition 2008 june 7
The Art of Digital Show 2007 in San Diego
The 'Top 40' LACDA Juried Competition 2008 in Los Angeles
And I was rewarded as being among the 12 finalists of the Vue 3D Environment Competition 2006

I grew up in Chad often looking at the stars during nights, it was not for fun but it was just too hot to sleep inside the house. Sleeping with the sky above me was my first emotional experience of the idea of time without end. Later, I decided to search for my real roots with the help of long yoga training. During my practice at the ADAC(where I was learning 3D modeling and Animation), I was so impressed by the creative use of visual computing that I decided to continue in this area of digital art. I can define my art like pointless and useful with a drop of Zen spirit. Like a tale it’s a story which depicts my vision and experiences in life, by mixing imagination and reality.
At present, I use in my creative process the software Vue6 Infinite for rendering, Poser 7 for characters and Shade for modeling.
