Jessie Poitras, dont le nom d’artiste est La Panthère Blanche JP, est née à Amqui, dans le bas St-Laurent (Québec, Canada). Depuis l’enfance, elle entretient une grande passion pour les arts. Elle a d’abord commencé par le dessin à neuf ans de façon autodidacte, puis à l’âge de douze ans, elle a suivi ses premiers cours de peinture à l’acrylique avec une peintre de son village et a même commencé à écrire des histoires qui sont devenus par la suite un complément à l’art visuel. À seize ans, Jessie a de nouveau suivi des cours de peinture avec une autre peintre, mais cette fois, à l’huile. C’est devenu par la suite son médium principal.

Le monde imaginaire et des rêves la passionnent beaucoup ! À l’âge de six ans, elle se demandait où vont les gens quand ils s’endorment ? Essayant de rester réveillée pour le découvrir, elle a vite compris qu’on rêve la nuit et s’est habituée à se souvenir de ses rêves le matin. Depuis la petite enfance, la plupart de ses œuvres tournent autour du féerique et du fantastique, elles sont comme une fenêtre sur un autre monde et aussi sa façon d’exprimer certains messages.

La mission de Jessie en tant qu’artiste est de faire rêver les gens, les amener dans le monde de l’imaginaire et leur faire découvrir bien plus qu’une simple image…
