Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. While they may be less valuable for different reasons, reproductions and copies have had a tremendous impact on our experience. They reach a greater audience than originals and act as a tonic against commodification. Original Artwork could also refer to the first work, which is always preceding all others. Jerci Maccari, catarinense de Urussanga (SC), passou parte da sua infância em Francisco Beltrão (PR) trabalhando com a família no campo.

Aos 13 anos, ingressou no Seminário de Ibicaré (SC). Mais tarde é transferido para o Seminário de Pirassununga (SP). Sempre que possível, retornava a Francisco Beltrão para o convívio da família, onde fotografava e pintava as figuras rurais desta região. Em 1970, muda-se para uma casa religiosa em Valinhos (SP).

Com o tempo, o ideal religioso perde sua força. Jerci se fixa em Valinhos e, com a orientação do Artista Plástico Sebastião Guimarães, ingressa na carreira de artista plástico enveredando-se pela Arte Moderna. Manteve-se sempre em contato com os demais artistas e aprimorou-se, através de pesquisas, na literatura especializada.

Em 1972, fez uma pausa no meio artístico e formou-se em Comunicação Social. Após seis anos, retoma a pintura com brusca mudança, aderindo à forte influência do Cubismo. Os temas da pintura são dados pelo elemento figurativo e pela estilização da paisagem.

Jerci Maccari tem como temática o homem do campo, geralmente do sudoeste do Paraná. Com cores muito vivas e bem definidas, o artista procura registrar o ambiente sócio-cultural do meio rural e suas consequências, além da simplicidade do lavrador como simbologia de vida.

Em sua trajetória como artísta plástico, participou de exposições individuais, coletivas e internacionais recebendo premiações e chamando a atenção de especialistas, que publicaram artigos sobre seus trabalhos.
