Jeanette Jarville was born and resides in Richmond, just a few miles south of Vancouver, British Columbia. She was interested in art at an early age and was fortunate (at age 11) to receive oil painting lessons for one year from renowned artist Lucile Mars.
Graduating High School with Honors and an art scholarship she was then accepted into Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design. Jeanette was awarded three scholarships while there and received a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art, majoring in Studio, in 1996. She also took the opportunity to study Art History and Sculpting in Berlin, Germany, spending one year in Europe. With the abundance of Old Masters works and the history within the landscape, Jeanette worked on capturing the diversity of the artisan.
Her style is unique and bold. She calls her work creations for they have a life of their own. Her work comes from within, and she says she is constantly being driven to create.

I paint what I feel at the moment, using colour and form to express a mood. I am drawn to dramatic and vibrant works, bold composition and organic shapes. I paint mostly figurative images and florals which I compose into a visual language that can be seen as well as felt.
