Jean-Baptiste Van den Heede is a contemporary Belgian artist. He defines himself as a cabinetmaker-designer and artist with an academic background and family tradition. The artist has won numerous awards for his avant-garde furniture designs and has attained distinctive designs of national and worldwide renown. His artistic work is concerned with the search for words, figures, and conscious or unconscious signs. Jean-Baptiste Van den Heede’s works are founded on the idea that humanity endures regardless of era or influence from Europe, Africa, or the United States, giving preference to the ancient world while combining it with the modern one.
