Janka Anděl Šustrová was born in Banská Bystrica in 1963. She developed her talent at the elementary art school. At the age of nine, she won the international art competition "Children, Peace and Art" and went to Prague for the prize, where she fell in love with the city.
As a student of the J. G. Tajovský Gymnasium, she prepared for the application of her talent in life in the studio of the Academic Sculptor Jaroslav Kubička, which increased her preconditions for graduating from the Faculty of Education in the field of art. After graduating, she participated in BAV group exhibitions with her drawings.
A childhood dream came true when she went to work as a methodologist for film, photography, fine arts and audiovisual technology in Prague.
In 1992, she founded and taught the art department at the Elementary Art School in Františkovy Lázně, where she and her son and husband moved in the meantime. She has successfully exhibited her paintings in local galleries.
She was forced to stop her promising art and pedagogical activities due to a serious illness of her son, and in order to strengthen his health, they moved to the Moravian Karst in 1994, to Lipovec, where she worked as an elementary school teacher since 1997. She founded a gallery in the new premises of the municipal office and, together with her fellow artist, created a stained glass window in the ceremonial hall. She also became a member of the Association of Artists of Moravia and Silesia. A successful exhibition in the Gallery in Rudice, but also in other areas in the area, opened the possibility for her to exhibit in the Moravian Gallery in Brno. Unfortunately, for personal reasons, this did not happen.
In 2001, the family moved again. This time to Boskovice. Janka teaches at three schools: ZŠ Boskovice, ZUŠ Velké Opatovice and its branch ZUŠ Knínice, where she founded the art department.
Returning to Prague in 2002 marked a new beginning. Through her free artistic work, Janka continued on her artistic journey, creating and exhibiting. She has taught at various schools.
After ten years of a relatively happy period, fate struck again. Most importantly, the family fell apart.
Neither Prague, although beautiful, especially for artistic souls, nor enough friends, nor its professional and artistic background, could fill Janka with a feeling of loneliness.
She found a helping hand in the form of new love. Since September 2013, he has lived and worked again in Banská Bystrica.
