This is the first in a series of three paintings that I would call abstracts but with some figurative elements in the first one. I was inspired initially from reading the work of biologist Rupert Sheldrake on his theories of evolution, the presence of the past and morphic resonance. This painting has a sense of a field of activity, of things moving and changing rapidly, with elements of man as primal, tribal in the process of change.
It is painted in oil on prepared wooden panel. A variety of frame ideas can be used to enhance and hang on the wall. I would suggest a box frame.
This is an original painting by Jane Hargrave, contemporary British artist, signed on the front and the back.
