In 1965 at the age of 2, James got his hands on his first camera, over the next 30 year he spent time learning how to use it, but more importantly learning how to see what makes a photograph more than a carbon copy of reality. James grew up in a world of art and the appreciation of how art connects reality with communicating  imagination and emotion. James  has been inspired by many of the  original greats and many more contemporaries he shares his spot in this medium such as Ansel Adams, Ed Weston, Arthur Steiglitz, John Shaw, George Depp, Galen Rowell and many others. James served 25 years in service to our country in the US Navy and now works as an Emmy Award Winning TV News Photojournalist in Phoenix Arizona near his home in San Tan Valley Arizona.
