Jacques PINCELOUP
It was in 1957 that he attended the courses known as the "Ecole de Lisieux" where he learned manual bookbinding with Professor Jean Legros, who was particularly attracted by the creative aspect of contemporary-style decorations in book illustration. At the end of his three years of training, in bookbinding, gilding, layout, and leather decoration, he obtained the state diploma with honors.
In this context, graphic design was the most suitable medium for him, and it has continued to influence his creations. During this period, he also attended the Municipal School of Plastic Arts in Lisieux with Professor Pierre Brassard.
A career in real estate confirmed his taste for architecture and decoration.
He began acrylic painting in 1998, but he nevertheless gives himself the freedom to use all the means at his disposal to express himself: mixed media, collages, etc. His style of expression is largely based on "graphic symbolism," the power of symbols to illustrate and evoke reality. Some of his works are purely abstract, their objective being simply to trigger a feeling, an emotion. This is how he presents his works of a "graphic constructivist" character, associations of structured geometric shapes and colors. The figurative, treated in the same spirit, is also present in his creations.
His works often free themselves from the superfluous to focus on the essential.
He is a remarkable colorist with works of atypical and expressive creations.
