Ewatomi is a meditation on power, perception, and the layered nature of identity. The name itself, meaning “Enough Beauty,” speaks to the tension between what is seen and what is felt—between external strength and internal struggle. This work challenges the idea that beauty, whether in authority, status, or appearance, is always just or kind.

In this piece, I explore how fear and admiration often coexist. The figure—a commanding presence—demands attention, much like the systems that shape our lives. Yet, beneath the surface lies a more complicated truth. The rigid, sculpted form reflects the expectations placed on individuals and institutions, but also the artificiality of these constructs. What is beautiful can also be dangerous. What is strong can also be fragile.

Through Ewatomi, I invite the viewer to question their own relationship with power and beauty. What do we fear? What do we desire? And where do the two intersect? This piece is not just a statement—it is an experience, a reflection, and an invitation to look beyond the surface.

Ashele Israel is young Nigerian artist, born on the 19th of May 2002 in Lagos state his passion for drawing, painting and started when he was in  5 years, but he grew interest in sculpture as a teenager

Ashele has no background in art whatsoever. What he does simply develop from a childhood hobby. His works are created using metal straps , fiberglass and acrylic  the reason he uses different medium is because he makes use of whatever materials is available at that moment he’s inspired to work. He’s inspired by his emotions. His form of art is known as realism, impressionism or abstract which is a genre of painting and sculpture

Ashele is a graduate student of yaba polytechnic department of general art

As a multidisciplinary artist, he merge the worlds of painting and sculpture to delve into themes of hidden realities, human consciousness and emotions . His work is an exploration of the interplay between material and meaning, where he continually push the boundaries of each medium through innovative experiments with form, color, and texture.

Through my art, he look at the connections between personal stories and shared human experiences, uncovering the hidden links that bring us together. By merging familiar elements with unexpected twists, I hope to invite viewers to see the world from a fresh perspective.

He has exhibited both locally and internationally
