India born emerging artist, Ishita Bandyo moved to US in 2000. She wanted to pursue her lifelong dream of being an artist and to that end she started to take classes at the local art guilds. Notable among them are, Greenwich Art Society, CT and Silvermine Art Guild, CT. Armed with a portfolio, she started to apply for art collages in 2002 and chose Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, Old Lyme, CT for its reputation as an academic institution. She received many honors during her student years including The President’s Award of Excellence. She was chosen for annual juried student exhibitions every year from 2002 to 2007. She graduated from the LCAFA in 2007 with BFA in Studio Arts and minor in Art History. She feels her mission in life is to connect with other humans through her art which is characterized by her use of vibrant color and bold compositions. Her mixed media collages are often text based which allows her to express more than either images or words can do alone. She lives in Branford, CT near New Haven, known for its vibrant art scene and lively night life. She is represented by the Maple and Main Gallery () in Chester, CT.
