Irina Tsvetkova, a contemporary Russian artist, discovered her love for drawing at a young age, setting her on a path of artistic exploration. At 15, she enrolled in the Penza Art School named after K.A. Savitsky, where she honed her skills in painting, graduating in 2019. It was during this time that Irina's artistic style began to take shape.
In 2020, Irina continued her artistic journey as a free student at the St. Petersburg Academic Institute named after I. Repin. This period of study was crucial in the formation of her artistic identity. In 2022, she furthered her education by enrolling in the Academy of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture named after I. Glazunov in Moscow, specializing in painting.
While pursuing her passion for art, Irina also works part-time as a teacher and creates custom paintings. She actively participates in exhibitions and open competitions, seeking to immerse herself in the world of great art.
In her artwork, Irina strives for absolute subjectivity, viewing her creations as a mirror through which she perceives the world. Delving into the deepest aspects of human nature, she believes that through understanding these fundamental properties, one can undergo spiritual transformation. The red dot present in each of Irina's paintings serves as a symbol of fate, representing elements beyond human control.
Inspired by the work of Hans Holbein, Irina incorporates black flat backgrounds into her paintings, fascinated by the juxtaposition of solidity and flatness, beauty and ugliness. Her artworks symbolize her personal journey as an artist, marked by moments of rejection and misunderstanding, yet filled with continuous growth and development.
