The coolness of the night descended on the white-stone city, the rustle of the sea waves subsided, the beautiful streets were deserted. The coolness of the night descended on the white-stone city, the rustle of the sea waves subsided, the beautiful streets were deserted. Dark blue, blue, purple, green colors with small patches of warm pink and beige.
This is a city that exists, perhaps in reality, and perhaps in our imagination, these are the labyrinths of our mind.
This work was done by me with acrylic on a stretched cotton canvas on a wooden stretcher.
The picturesque surface of the canvas is covered with acrylic varnish.
This work is unframed. A picture on a stretcher can look good in the interior without additional framing.

Hello, my name is Zhigalova Irina Nikolaevna, I was born in 1979 in the north of Udmurtia, Russia. From elementary school I began to attend art school, where I studied for 4 years. In 2001, she acquired the specialty of a teacher of fine arts, graduating from Udmurt State University (Izhevsk). Despite the fact that I studied at art school for 4 years, and at the university for 5 years, I believe that the main foundation, layer of knowledge and skills were laid in art school, my teacher often shared with me the secrets of his craft.

< p>At the university I chose the specialty “academic painting”. What was the basis for my choice of specialization? The choice was wide: batik, ceramics, sculpture, carving, etc. But all the arguments were in favor of painting: a painting, a painting, can survive years, centuries, giving immortality to the author, a painting is a kind of window into another world, a world created and manifested through the artist, and, of course, this is the pleasure that I get from the process of painting (laying, mixing, combining colors, breathing life into the strokes, this is real magic for me).

Now I work as a teacher at art school, but I don’t forget my calling; I periodically paint small-sized paintings on fiberboard panels, although I gravitate towards large-scale canvases. I give preference to classic materials: canvas on a stretcher, oil; I also like to paint in watercolors and work in dry pastels.

My painting style is academic in nature, but I try to introduce some expressionism, abstractionism, I also love naive art and cubism.
