This original romantic landscape painting is created with quality oil paints, on a stretched canvas, and varnished for protection. This artwork was created as part of a series of rural landscapes of the U.S.A.
I had been out and about, in the early morning mist and fog, walking the edge of the forest, enjoying the peace and solitude of the day. The fog was soft and comforting, and I came upon this long swath of hydrangeas on the edge of an overgrown property, with the beginning of the mountain sloping gently behind it. It was very unexpected, and I knew that was what I would paint — the beauty and lines of that strange meeting point, and of course, it was all shrouded in the mysterious blanket of morning mist.

I paint/work every day. Whether plein air or in-studio (sometimes both) and a variety of different mediums, including watercolor, pastel, and charcoal.
