Seller Hildegarde Handsaeme
"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

The composition balances abstract geometry with organic form, as planes of deep green, muted red, and serene blue intersect to frame the figures. The juxtaposition of sharp-edged blocks and soft human contours creates visual tension while maintaining harmony, highlighting the duality of strength and tenderness.
Tutum goes beyond mere figuration, becoming a symbolic exploration of protection, emotional intimacy, and the timeless human need for connection — key elements that define Handsaeme’s artistic voice.

Hildegarde Handsaeme is a contemporary Belgian artist celebrated for her minimalist yet emotionally resonant figurative paintings. Born in Kortrijk in 1958, she has developed a distinctive visual language where geometric clarity meets poetic emotion. Her work reduces the female form to its most essential curves, resulting in balanced, harmonious compositions that convey both strength and serenity.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas and ink on paper, Handsaeme creates artworks that transcend mere representation. Each piece becomes a visual poem — refined, contemplative, and deeply connected to femininity, balance, and timeless symbolism. Her style is instantly recognizable, often making a traditional signature unnecessary.
Her paintings have been exhibited internationally, including in New York, Paris, Amsterdam, and Brussels, and are sought after by collectors who appreciate minimalist elegance, symbolic abstraction, and the enduring power of the feminine form.
