C'était une commande de leur maître, qui avait un super restaurant sur la plage ; il fut vraiment ému en reconnaissant distinctement ses deux bêtes, qui d'ailleurs avaient très sagement posé pour de nombreux croquis afin de trouver l'attitude idéale et puis même au cours de l'exécution sur toile. En plus du paiement convenu, j'ai eu un très généreux pourboire : la possibilité de déjeuner tous les jours à ma guise pendant un mois.
Souvenir merveilleux, j'ai pu peindre et nager et manger au soleil en maillot de bain. J'avais 25 ans.
