Chiara Lera studia Interior Design presso la facoltà di Architettura di Firenze.
L’originario interesse per la pittura e il disegno si è ultimamente esteso a campi diversi quali la fotografia e la computer grafica. Predilige le rappresentazioni figurative, in particolare la ritrattistica e i soggetti architettonici. Utilizza sia tecniche classiche (olio, tempera, acquarello, pastello...) che sperimentali (pittura materica, combustione, pittura su supporto plastico...), dedicandosi alla trattazione di soggetti non convenzionali.
I temi trattati hanno subito lievi non radicali mutamenti. L’interesse per i soggetti al limite, prepotentemente insoliti o velati da un filo di decadenza, brillano forse di uno smalto più glam. La schizofrenia delle ultime opere non nega un futuro ritorno al passato. Heaven non supera o abbandona ma colleziona ogni passo in nome di un percorso consapevole, frammentato e non obbligatoriamente immediato.

Inscrizione alla facoltà di Disegno industriale dell’Università degli studi di Firenze con indirizzo interior design.
15-19 Settembre 2004
Partecipazione al seminario artistico organizzato dalla Provincia di Lucca: “Uno uno prima: Stage Europeo degli esordi”, in cui era prevista la partecipazione, di artisti esordienti, giovani stagisti e maestri nel settore (Emir Kusturica, Michelangelo Pistoletto, William Kline).

Partecipazione al "Laboratorio di didattica delle materie artistiche" organizzato a Lucca dal Dipartimento di arti figurative dell'Università Pratt Intitute di New York nell'ambito dello stage estivo "Art & Design Education".
