Thinking about Mars I don't feel just excitement in a good way. It also raises many questions and even negative emotionsa about the real necessity of this step.
We have so many places on Earth that could be treated better. We still have starving people and problems with drinking water in some parts of the Globe but we don't have money to solve this problems. Although space programs are always well-financed. Do we really have to move to another planet to have better lives? Or maybe we just have to "clean up" our planet?
So this painting is about willing of new conquests, new lands but totally forgetting about being responsible of what we already have. It's all about the psychology of modern human and consupmtionism - wanting new all the time instead of repairing old.
