Velma Gomez

My website won the 2005 Excellence Award from the Bel Art Gallery in Portugal.

Velma (Bambi) Gomez was born May 16, 1950 in Navasota, Texas. She is a self taught artist with many talents that she uses to the best of her ability. She has been an oil artist since 1995 and has over 150 paintings in her own private collection.

I love to create. Creativity is a gift from God and he has given me many gifts of different types. Everyone is creative in some form or fashion, though many cannot recognize their talent and use it to the best of their ability and just let it waste away. I am proud of my gifts whether it be painting, sculpting, sewing, crocheting, operating a computer or whatever it may be. I make use of it.

I exhibited in the BIRDS2005 art exhibit in Beijing, China.

Hi, I'm Velma Gomez, a self taught artist. I have been painting in some form or fashion since 1979, but have only been a serious oil painter since 1995. I have over 150 of my paintings in my own private collection. I am a grandmother raising my one and only grandson. He will be four years old on September the eighteenth. I have had him since he was three months old. He to loves to paint and wants to be an artist.

I love to paint. When painting and really into my painting hours pass and it only seems like I just began. Half the time I cannot tell where my hand ends and the brush begans. It is like someone else is doing the painting. I love every minute of my painting.
