Goian Dorin uses photography as a way to explore, investigate, and document the culture and people in the cities he lived in. He was born and raised in the former USSR in Moldova and studied economics at the Moldovan Academy of Economic Studies. In his works, Dorin expresses his creative vision of the world, and his senses towards the compositional elements of his images: the environment, the people and all the living beings. In 2006 Dorin traveled to Montreal, Canada, to take up photography and then onward to Ontario where he pursued photojournalism studies. In 2009, Dorin attended the Magnun Workshop at Contact Photo Festival in Toronto and in 2011 he was a selected participant at Noor Nikon Masterclass in Documentary Photography in Bucharest. Dorin has since returned to Moldova and is working on a long-term project about difficult economical situation of Moldova and its effects on it´s population. He is a citizen of Moldova and Canada and lives between Chisinau and Montreal.

Goian gebruikt fotografie als een manier om de cultuur en mensen in de steden waarin hij woonde te verkennen, onderzoeken en documenteren. Hij is geboren en getogen in de voormalige USSR in Moldavië en studeerde economie aan de Moldovan Academy of Economic Studies. In zijn werken drukt Dorin zijn creatieve visie op de wereld uit, en zijn gevoel voor de compositorische elementen van zijn beelden: de omgeving, de mensen en alle levende wezens. In 2006 reisde Dorin naar Montreal, Canada, om fotografie te beginnen en vervolgens naar Ontario, waar hij fotojournalistiek studeerde. In 2009 woonde Dorin de Magnun Workshop bij op het Contact Photo Festival in Toronto en in 2011 was hij een geselecteerde deelnemer aan de Noor Nikon Masterclass in Documentaire Fotografie in Boekarest. Dorin is inmiddels teruggekeerd naar Moldavië en werkt aan een langetermijnproject over de moeilijke economische situatie van Moldavië en de gevolgen daarvan voor de bevolking. Hij is een staatsburger van Moldavië en Canada en woont tussen Chisinau en Montreal.
