Goian

Goian uses photography as a way to explore, investigate, and document the culture and people in the cities he lived in. He was born and raised in the former USSR in Moldova and studied economics at the Moldovan Academy of Economic Studies. In his works, Dorin expresses his creative vision of the world, and his senses towards the compositional elements of his images: the environment, the people and all the living beings. In 2006 Dorin traveled to Montreal, Canada, to take up photography and then onward to Ontario where he pursued photojournalism studies. In 2009, Dorin attended the Magnun Workshop at Contact Photo Festival in Toronto and in 2011 he was a selected participant at Noor Nikon Masterclass in Documentary Photography in Bucharest. Dorin has since returned to Moldova and is working on a long-term project about difficult economical situation of Moldova and its effects on it´s population. He is a citizen of Moldova and Canada and lives between Chisinau and Montreal.
