I am fascinated by this female gorilla Koko who left us on June 21, 2008
she spoke sign language (more than 1000 words).
His face expression is so human I wanted to highlight this look by drawing it
on 220 g 25x35 cm paper, using Faber-Castel pencils.
This drawing is the 3rd in the great ape series
Like many children I loved to draw, it was from the 6th grade (10 years) that I realized my abilities, but the seasonal jobs in the restaurant industry, to pay for my secondary studies, gave birth to my passion. to make people happy during lunch, a dinner at a restaurant.
Making a living from his art was for me difficult, extremely rare ... I could not do both, even if in 1988 I tried to follow the preparation for an interior designer school. During the day the lessons and in the evening the restaurant with 2 days off in the week, it could have been done, except that there was a lot of work to do at home, so it only lasted a month. Hence the total absence of painting for 40 years.
For my 51 years in August 2015, my dear mother Henriette Coulouvrat (singer of the '80s, see Youtube) offered me 2 canvases 50x40 cm and acrylic paint, when ordering. to fill this blank canvas ... Like a writer who does not know how to start his book !! my dear father, himself a writer, once said the story, ideas flow ... Dad, I listened to you, a table of symbols about you, you inspired me. Maybe in the VIP corner of the missing artists, you saw the result, certainly childish in the realization, but interesting :)
Then I painted on wood L35 x H95cm, the rue des Norvins, Montmartre, to protect my Poulbot made in 1979 on paperboard (thank you dad) with gouache. It was on my bedroom door until I was 19. After many moves, it is finally under glass, Phew !!! I was surprised at the result, I didn't think I would be able to paint like this ...After 2 years of painting lessons (8 hours/month) at the studio of Weronika, a graduate painter in fine arts in Poland, I found my way, hyperrealism. I thank her for having developed this gift at home and fanning this passion which naturally makes me choose a subject with additional difficulty. In 2020, I took the online courses of Sheila R.Giovanni, Brazilian, who makes hyper-realistic human portraits with pencils.
Each achievement is a new challenge !! Today my head is full of ideas. I caught the drawing-19 virus and its Paint-19 variant;)
I draw and paint animals either on order from a photo or in one of my creations (birth of a wave - acrylic painting on canvas)As an actor on stage, the exchange with the spectator is the most important.
My reward, to see the emotion in the eye of the one who receives his painting / his drawing. I feel at this moment all the Love shared with his pet.
