GIUSEPPE CORRADINO
He was born in Palermo in 1955. The desire to draw, which satisfies since he was a child by illustrating life or fantasy stories in personal diaries, taking inspiration from the various comics he collects, leads him to follow an artistic training course which, started in high school Artistic of Palermo, continues at the high school of Scientific Police in Rome, where he perfects the techniques of drawing and portrait aimed at the creation of the "identikit", and is completed with the diploma in painting, obtained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catania. From 1986 to 2012 he was the Scientific Police designer for Eastern Sicily, giving a face, through the graphic elaboration of testimonial memories, to the authors of some of the most striking judicial cases that took place on the island. For a long time the protection of the environment, undermined by an increasingly rampant consumerism, is the central theme of his artistic production which, since the end of the 70s, has been characterized by works or installations presented as "metaphors"; of a social and cultural degradation on which to reflect. A progressive internalization of the form and the great socio-political changes that characterize the beginning of the second millennium are the prodromes of a new "sign" research, today expressed by Corradino through the fingerprint, traced by vortexes of color or outlined by a flow of words , in which the objective testimony of a real identity refers to hypothetical "labyrinths", metaphors of places where getting lost or finding oneself is only the result of a research through which to investigate the meaning of "being there".
