Born September 25, 1970 in La Varenne (94), Gilles Glaçon lives and works in France, devoting his life to pictorial art. As a child, he grew up between La Varenne and Nogent, marked by an early artistic revelation while he resided in an educational action home for minors in Nogent. Inspired by Italian Renaissance art, he decided to devote himself entirely to art.
Gilles Glaçon began his training in visual arts in Paris, joining the rue de Seine school where he explored various artistic disciplines for three years, including an introduction to stone cutting in 1986. In the 90s, he shared a workshop at the Beaux-Arts de Montparnasse, while training in painting techniques for wall decoration, particularly faux-wood and faux-marble, in Bagnolet.
Father of a little girl, Gilles Glaçon juggled between various jobs in Paris to support himself while reserving time for his artistic expression. He participated in several notable group exhibitions in the 90s, including the Hôpital Éphémère in Paris, the Beaux-Arts de Montparnasse and the Art Vision Gallery. He also created panels for a haute couture ready-to-wear collection at Guy Laroche.
Since 2001, Gilles Glaçon has devoted all his time to painting in Burgundy. His work has been exhibited from Nîmes to Seville, via Brussels and Paris, and his paintings are sold directly from his studio, on eBay and in auction rooms. His style, influenced by abstraction, expressionism and the figurative, is manifested through works rich in texture and color, exploring a diverse range of mediums such as acrylic on paper and canvas, as well as pigments on paper.
