Gérard Pompée was born in 1956 in Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière, in the Dordogne. From a young age, he showed a passion for painting, a vocation that would follow him throughout his life. After training as a photographer at the IDEC school in Belgium, he turned to drawing, thus discovering his preferred means of expression: dry pastel. Gérard manages to capture the beauty of the still lifes and landscapes that surround him.

Now retired, Gérard lives in Le Tréport, where he continues to devote himself to his artistic passion. In his spare time, he regularly creates new works, also exploring other styles of painting. His training in photography, acquired by correspondence in a Belgian school, enriches his artistic practice. He creates pastels on canvas mounted on frames of different sizes, but also on wooden panels. In search of diversity, he also uses acrylic on various supports and uses spray paint to bring his creations to life.

For him, art is much more than just an activity: it is a window onto the soul, an invitation to explore the emotions that connect us all through colors and shapes.
