Ancien professeur des Beaux Arts de Paris, Gérard Di-Maccio, auteur de la thèse de Morphopsychologie, se consacre entièrement à la peinture dès la fin des années soixante-dix.
Entre 1994 et 1997, il réalise la plus grande toile du monde, de 27 mètres de long sur 9 mètres de haut. L’œuvre est exposée aujourd'hui au Japon.
Sa carrière est marquée par de nombreuses expositions à travers le monde entier : Europe, Etats-Unis, Afrique du Nord, Asie accueillent l’artiste avec le même enthousiasme.
Chef de file du « Mouvement Visionnaire », l’œuvre de Di-Maccio est à la confluence des arts, de l’anatomie et de l’architecture. Ses espaces mystérieux et puissants abritent autant de personnages hybrides et d’édifices végétaux, qui fusionnent en harmonie.
La maîtrise et la finesse du trait, l’équilibre parfait des compositions ont souvent conduit à rapprocher l’artiste avant-gardiste des grands maîtres de la Renaissance.
