Геннадий Иванович Еланский – выпускник Санкт-Петербургской академии художеств им. Репина 1998 года продолжает в более чем 300 произведениях реалистическую традицию русской живописи. Сюжеты картин богаты и разнообразны – жанровые композиции, иконы, портреты, пейзажи и натюрморты. Полотна живописца получают высокую оценку не только посетителей многочисленных выставок мастера, но и коллег.
Геннадий Иванович является членом Союза художников России, его картины представлялись широкой аудитории на более чем 40 художественных и персональных выставках и биеннале. Творчество художника хорошо знакомо любителям живописи как в России, так и за рубежом. Произведения автора хранятся в частных собраниях коллекционеров живописи и графики в России, США, Китая, Франции, Германии, Англии, Японии, Испании, Швеции и многих других странах ближнего и дальнего зарубежья. Его фамилия внесена во Всемирную Энциклопедию самых известных людей мира.Художник активно участвует в культурно-просветительской и благотворительной деятельности.
В 2007 году Геннадию Ивановичу от Российского объединенного комитета по наградам была торжественно вручена серебряная медаль «За заслуги в сохранении русской культуры».
В 2008 году решением Совета Георгиевского Союза награжден знаком чести «Серебряным Крестом» и «Серебряным перстнем». В том же году было присвоено звание «Член-корреспондент Петровской Академии Наук и Искусств».Геннадий Еланский – президент Международной ассоциации художников потомков дворянских родов «Возрождение», является действительным членом Петербургского дворянского собрания. Художник по материнской линии относится к дворянскому роду князей Долгоруких.
В 2012 году решением Российского Дворянского собрания был награжден Орденом Святого Станислава III степени.
С 2018 года Геннадий Еланский является членом экспертного совета политического клуба «Столицы России» и принимает активное участие в жизни города и страны. За заслуги в благотворительной и культурно-просветительской деятельности в 2017 году был занесен в «Золотую Книгу Ленинградской области», а с 2019 года Геннадий Иванович входит в попечительский совет фонда социальных программ «Золотая Книга Ленинградской области».
