I am a jeweller based in Scotland who specialises in one off pieces which I hand craft. I tailor towards your own design.
am a Scottish jewellery designer who graduated in 2006 with BDes (Hons) Jewellery & Metal Design from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. I also have an HND and NC in Jewellery Design from Cardonald College. I have been designing and making bespoke jewellery since 1999.
I am passionate about designing and making jewellery and thrive to produce bespoke, superbly produced handcrafted pieces. As jewellery has a personal and sentimental value I love taking on commissions or can give new life to an old piece of jewellery using your own ideas.
One of my designs (the labyrinth neckpiece pictured on this page) has already attracted a Precious Metal Bursary Award from the Goldsmith's Company.
Influences
Architecture is a major influence in my work which inspires both geometric forms and organic sculptures. Movement is also a prominent force where rare coloured stones can be moved along the labyrinths of my work. My pieces are tactile, playful and sculptural. Natural rock formations influence the texture and layering of many of my designs. The Scottish landscape has influenced some of the curves and shapes of pendants.
I enjoy working with precious metals such as silver and gold. I love using unusually shaped stones and I set them in innovative ways into many of my one-off pieces. However, I also experiment in incorporating non-precious materials such as plastics; glass and resins too. I create innovative designs by adjusting them to suit the needs of my clients, every piece is unique. I am constantly challenging the boundaries of jewellery design, producing both one-off and commercial pieces.
