Igor Volozhanin is a contemporary Russian artist. He works in the figurative painting style. Through his stylization of forms, ancient art is being rethought. An in-depth study of art history inspires him to create "antique Slavic" figures through the projection of his own method.
The artist aims to keep plastic expressiveness and develop a new creative context by generalizing the figures in terms of drawing and color. Reducing all colors and tints to a black-and-white, monochrome palette, discarding all colors and minor details while retaining the core idea and therefore giving it a fundamentally new imaginative meaning.
Igor Volozhanin was born in 1967, in Russia, where he graduated from the Ural State Academy of Architecture and Art. Volozhanin is an Honorary member of the International Academy of Contemporary Art and a Member of the Design Union of Russia.
