En 1970, Robert Crumb dessine les marionnettes d'AngelFood et Mr. Natural qu'il fallait découper et assembler pour les animer. Aujourd'hui, Frédéric Durieu remplace les ficelles et les élastiques par des codes et des formules mathématiques grâce au logiciel PuppetTool© qu'il a créé par Frédéric en 2001. Cet outil anime de manière interactive des personnages articulés à l'aide de calcul effectués en temps réel.
Dans Chichi Biguine, une suite appropriée de mouvements fait danser les marionnettes. Les gestes du public activent Mr Natural. L'animation est générée en direct par et pour les spectateurs; elle raconte donc une infinité d'histoire.
Cette forme d'expression qui crée de la poésie par du code informatique est appelée « poésie algorithmique ».

Chichi Biguine looks like a cartoon but is not one! It is an interactive work. Here an animation among an infinity of possible version by the program.
In 1970, Robert Crumb drew the puppets of AngelFood and Mr. Natural that had to cut and assemble to animate them. Today, Frédéric Durieu replaces strings and elastics with codes and mathematical formulas thanks to the PuppetTool © software he created by Frédéric in 2001. This tool interactively animates characters articulated using calculations in real time.
In Chichi Biguine, an appropriate sequence of movements makes the puppets dance. The gestures of the public activate Mr Natural. The animation is generated live by and for the spectators; it tells an infinity of history.
This form of expression that creates poetry through computer code is called "algorithmic poetry".

Frédéric Durieu, graduate of Polytechnique and artist, writes his own programs and uses the computers to make art since almost 30 years. Pioneer in this domain, his works was exhibited in major museums. He realized also installations for several known brands, exhibitions, events or shows. His image processing and the movements are unique and surprising.
Nathalie Erin, alumnus of academy, singing teacher and artist, has a big sensibility of the world, which surrounds her, that inspires them in their co-creations today.
