Je t'aime, un peu... (2022) Painting by Françoise Tolbiac

"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

1989 – 2015: 26 years separate these two dates. In 1989, after two years of practice, I embarked on my very first watercolor exhibition. Since then, I have continued to learn and paint.
As a child, I was very drawn to drawing. A few years later, alongside my professional life, I joined the Chalon-sur-Saône School of Art. Then, internships with great watercolor artists such as Marc Folly, Janine Gallizia and Joëlle Krupa, to name but a few, allowed me to nourish my desire to deepen my discovery of watercolor.
If, over the years, I have sometimes been unfaithful to this wonderful medium in favor of oil and acrylic, it is always to find it again better and each time with a new beneficial force.
My favorite subjects are very varied. I do not want to lock myself into a particular theme. I sometimes do a few series around a theme, but I need to "move on" as if to take on a new challenge.
I think, I "sketch", I prepare, I appropriate the subject before transcribing on paper the emotion it releases. Then comes the crucial moment when my brush comes into action and plays with the water and pigments...
The color and the water mix and on the paper, I become a bit like the conductor of this colorful music by focusing on the essential notes: light and transparency.
I have been teaching watercolor and oil for 25 years.
