Après des études à l'Ecole des Arts Appliqués de Paris et à l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Enseignement Technique de Cachan, Françoise Corselis Bouchet-Doumenq choisit la broderie comme moyen d'expression favori. Elle travaille d'abord sur le thème du déluge et de l'arc-en-ciel avant de s'inspirer des paysages de l'Île de le Réunion où elle a vécu pendant trois ans. En 1982, elle s'installe dans une ferme en Dordogne, puis reprend l'enseignement des arts plastiques en collège de 1992 à 1998 avant de pouvoir se consacrer à son art.
Elle peint essentiellement une végétation imaginaire, terrestre ou maritime, très dense et colorée en accord avec ses états d'âme, comme avec les changements qu'offre la nature au gré des heures et des saisons.
