François Buhot is an illustrator and painter born in Chartres in 1978.
His love affair with painting began in childhood during a visit to Claude Monet's house in Giverny. It was a real revelation, love at first sight for the Impressionist movement that never left him.
During his childhood, François followed an academic training in a studio in Chartres where he learned the fundamental techniques of drawing and painting, then for years he continued to refine his artistic practice.
In 2020, after a career as an engineer, he decided to give more meaning to his life by devoting himself entirely to his art. He trained as an illustrator at the Estienne school in Paris and set up a studio in Essonne, not far from the Caillebotte estate where he lives.
Influenced by the great Impressionist painters, his artistic world is both nuanced and striking, mixing the finesse of details and the strength of contrasts. Fascinated by the variations of light, he seeks above all to capture a fleeting moment of life to highlight the personal expression of a portrait or a place.
François works mainly in oil and acrylic. He likes to convey the impressions of a fleeting atmosphere, to represent a moment of life by playing on the nuances of colors and the spontaneity of the movements brought by the touches of brushes.
Today François works mainly on commission for companies and individuals. Eager to transmit his passion, he also teaches painting techniques to beginners or initiates and offers workshops to share his experience.
In addition, he regularly exhibits in independent painters' salons.
