A virtual exhibit of Abstract Expressionist art by a self-taught painter from Florence.
Perceptions, symbols and sensations turn into an abstract synthesis.

Born in a village close to Florence, Francesco Boretti spent his life between Tuscany and Liguria.
At a very young age, he fought in the Second World War, first as a partisan in the surroundings of Florence, then on the so-called Gothic Line as a liaison officer for the English Eighth Army.
He worked as a teacher of Gymnastics, and eventually graduated in Natural Sciences.
A self-taught artist, in 1960 he started devoting himself to painting: at the beginning, he used gloomy and monochromatic tones
that reflected a very sad moment of his existence, but when life finally acquired a meaning for him his artwork bursted out in a
phantasmagoria of colours and sensations
