Fundou juntamente com os professores Laerte Baldini e Aurora de Lima os “Atelieres do Benfica”, na rua Benfica, 157, Madalena, no ano de 1980, onde foi coordenador por vários anos consecutivos, Departamento de Teoria da Arte e Expressão Artística da UFPE. Foi fundador e presidente do Sindicato dos Artistas Plásticos Profissionais de Pernambuco (SINAPP-PE), primeiro sindicato da categoria no Brasil, 1989/1999. Membro do Círculo de Belas Artes de Madri, Espanha - 1996/1999. Membro da Academia de Artes, Letras e Ciências de Olinda, 2005. Atualmente é vice-presidente do (SINAP-PE), Sindicato dos Artistas Plásticos de Pernambuco.

Curador de exposições Nacionais e Internacionais, como: “Evidencias das Artes Plásticas em Pernambuco IV”, Aliança Francesa, Recife, 1989; “Coletiva de Artistas Pernambucanos”, Aliança Francesa de João Pessoa, 1990; “I Salão da Estética Livre de Pernambuco", Centro de Convenções de Pernambuco, 1992; "Exposição de Artes da I Semana do Brasil”, em Madri, Espanha, 1998; "Pintores Iberoamericanos Intemédio”, em Madri, Espanha, 2000; "El Retablo del Signo”, em Madri, Espanha, 2000, entre outras.
