This painting was born out of a sense of mystery and feminine strength. At its center is a woman who, after a romantic evening, decides to take a quiet swim in the waters of the Nile under the cover of night. This painting was born out of a sense of mystery and feminine strength. At its center is a woman who, after a romantic evening, decides to take a quiet swim in the waters of the Nile under the cover of night. The wet fabric clings to her body, revealing both her vulnerability and quiet confidence. Her gaze is calm and direct, with an almost ancient quality — as if she doesn’t fully belong to our time. I was inspired by myths of goddesses, stories of love and rebirth, and the idea of a woman unafraid to be seen in her true form.

A fun fact: the character originally had completely different hair, but one accidental brushstroke “cut off” part of her hairstyle. I had to improvise — and that’s how the iconic bangs were born. Ironically, that little mistake ended up completing her look and giving her the personality she needed. Sometimes, art knows better than we do.

Although portraits hold a special place in my work, I never limit myself to them—I enjoy experimenting with different genres and styles. For me, art is a way to see and express the beauty of the world in all its forms.
