I have been painting since 1997. Following an exhibition in Ostend, Belgium; I am self-taught and have experimented with different techniques: monotype, woodcut. I have used oil paint on paper and canvas. I currently work mainly with acrylic paint, on canvas frames or on large free canvases. Poetry, prose, and haikus have accompanied me throughout my life, and painting has complemented these means of expression. It is above all a personal adventure. Vital... like a breath... a search for self-knowledge... a way of settling into another world... another space-time... the time of creation... breaking down all daily imperatives to let one's ideas wander without constraints... letting the unconscious emerge... the subconscious... a "planet" of freedom and forgetting responsibilities...family or social problems...a space that gives energy, it is therefore first for me...and later when the first exhibitions showed my work...the exchanges with people touched in their sensitivity communicated to me their feelings...their emotion...I saw that the work continued its path all by itself...that my sensitivity met other sensibilities...it was a way of joining the human chain. I do not see what could stop this need for creation...when I do not paint...I do it in thought...in my dreams...it is part of me.
