Erwin Esquivel C was born in 1958 in Cereté, a small village on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. At the age of 7, after winning a painting competition, he discovered his passion for painting and became self-taught. At age 18, Erwin moved to Bogota to study and later earned his degree in Advertising from the University of Bogota. Despite his studies, he did not forget his passion for painting and continued to perfect his technique.

For many years, Erwin Esquivel's main subject was the female nude, a theme he explored with remarkable depth. His works have been exhibited in Bogota, Washington and Miami, meeting with notable success. Today his work focuses mainly on the world of color, seeking a harmonic dialogue between drawing, line, color and light. He uses a variety of mediums, including acrylic on linen, pastel and chalk on paper, ink on paper and oil on canvas.

His style, influenced by Fauvism and characterized by polychromatic colors, remains figurative while exploring new dimensions of light and color. Erwin Esquivel C currently lives and works in France, where he continues to develop his art, captivating audiences with his vibrant and expressive works.
