Light emerges from each of the eight spaces of the octoptych. Its substance is suddenly released, bursting through space-time.
The generated wave escapes its confinement, and the sharp break suggests a line segment traced with precision—affixed with a lemniscate, symbolizing infinity. This concept is reinforced by the eight units that structure the work.
The images, in turn, reveal this infinite repetition, like echoes endlessly generating new echoes.
The deep blacks of the paper unveil an iridescence reminiscent of the quantum void—a nothingness that serves as an invisible memory, teeming with latent energy. It is the very alphabet of the cosmos, the force that suddenly gives birth to cosmic writing.
This polyptych was exhibited at Réalités Nouvelles, Salon of Abstraction in October 2018 and at the Contemporary Art Space 1905 in Shenyang, China, as part of the Hors-les-Murs RN Abstract Project during the summer of 2019.

Éric Petr is an artist photographer for whom light is a symbol of life, and time, its eternal renewal. When he captures the light to write his presence there in negative, the secrets of the material it contains tell celestial stories.
His photography is a dialogue between the sky and man. It is a reflection on the essence of light. It is a variation on Werner Heisenberg's “uncertainty relations” which questions whether the observation theory of the universe would impose certain limits on our perception of reality. It shows the fragility and beauty of life.
