Éric Perral was born on November 16, 1965, in Matane, Quebec.

He began with drawing in 1989. He then moved on to painting in 1990. He pursued a self-taught career to be able to push his own visual research to the fullest, influenced by a state of mind stemming from surrealism, psychedelia, and of metaphysics. This amalgamation of these three major trends of the 20th century is the cornerstone of the Chauve movement, of which he is one of the three founding members.
The medium most often used is oil on canvas, but he can also use oil on wood or cardboard, or even combine collages directly on the painting, just to place the characters taken from magazine photographs in a different environment. .
Éric Perral's painting suggests to us a poetic and aesthetic universe where emotion is expressed through the strange presence of the compositions, enhanced with energetic and harmonious colors.
The painter leads the viewer to meditate on the mystery of truth, in order to identify the bases of all human activity. He seeks to define, humbly through utopia, the beauty and fantastic richness of life.
