Walter Sené, a contemporary French artist, is a versatile creative force, excelling as a graphic designer, painter, and sculptor. Inspired by Free Figuration, Walter embarked on his artistic journey in the late 1980s, initially creating expansive outdoor frescoes in industrial settings, alongside participating in gallery exhibitions and artistic events. His ingenuity knows no bounds, as he fearlessly explores various materials, surfaces, and environments to craft a deeply personal and liberating artistic expression, free from constraints.
In the past decade, Walter has dedicated much of his time to painting whimsical characters that evoke nostalgia for his teenage years and his passion for comics. Rendered in acrylic paint, his endearing heroes exude a childlike charm, serving as "self-portraits" that reflect his innermost feelings, emotions, and sensations. Framed in white against vibrant backgrounds, these characters stand out like polaroids, capturing the essence of Walter's playful imagination.
