Andrew's Descent - a street in the Podilsky district of Kyiv, connecting Podil with Old Kiev. It runs from Kontraktova Square to Vladimirsky and Desyatinnaya streets. The upper part of the Andreevsky Descent appeared on the way that, during the times of Kyiv Rus, Old Kyiv (Hora) and Podil connected Old Orchestra (Uzdichalnytsia) and Zamkova, Chorevitsa and Starokyivska Mountains. During the Middle Ages, the branch of Andrew's Descent was laid and to the castle on Mount Kiselyovka. In 1711, it became suitable for use not only for pedestrians and horsemen, but also for the journey of harnessed horses and oxen. The name of the descent was received, presumably, in the XVIII century from St. Andrew's Church. The main building of the street was made in the 90's of the XIX - the beginning of XX century. Nowadays, reproduced in the ancient form, the descent is a place of exhibition-sale of paintings and products of folk art in the open air. St. Andrew's Descent is called the Kyiv Montmartre. Nataliya Bagatskaya is a contemporary Ukrainian painter. She has always been fascinated by the color and form. By combining them together, she gets unlimited possibilities for creating art. Some of her paintings are impulsive, where inner emotion captures her brush, while others are trips that even surprises the artist.

With her paintings, Bagatskaya tries to express how she sees the world, and on an emotional level to communicate with the viewer, hoping to fix the moment on the canvas. Her style has the basis of realism, adding surrealism or elements of the style of cubism, or even creating a mystical environment around realistic objects. In her works there is a series of still lives - as a "replica" on the subject of Dutch and English classical still-life with the accompanying attributes: vases, glasses, fruits and flowers that appear on a deep dark background. All these objects and environments acquire their aura, glow, giving the viewer a kind of mystical realism.

Nataliya Bagatskaya was born in 1967, in Ukraine. She is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

The Artist was highlighted in an article in Artmajeur Magazine:
