Una sera, seguendo una conferenza di uno psicoanalista italiano sento una sua frase che dice: cosa vuol dire essere donna? Una domanda alla quale non si può rispondere. Troppo profonda per essere risolta.
La donna come enigma, essere sfuggente.
Ho voluto rappresentare le donne attraverso gli elementi più semplici: l’acqua e il carbonio. Gli stessi materiali di cui è composto in nostro corpo.
Volti, espressioni e sguardi arrivano dai social, in parallelo con la ricerca stessa di ogni donna nell’osservare altri riferimenti femminili nel tentativo di comprendere qualcosa in più di se stessa. Come una raccolta di riferimenti che aiutino a tracciare la propria immagine partendo dalla figura, l’altra.

One evening, following a lecture by an Italian psychoanalyst I hear this sentence: what it means to be woman?
A question that cannot be answered: too deep to be solved. Women are elusive enigma.
I wanted portrait women through the simplest elements: water and carbon. The same materials of which it is composed in our body.
Faces, expressions and looks come from social media, a long side with the research of every woman in observing other female references in an attempt to understand something more than herself.
Like a collection of references that help to trace the self-image begging from the figure, the other.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Born in Rivoli, Turin on 30 October 1982. Graduated in advertising graphics and graduated in graphics from the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin. After graduating, he became the art director of an advertising agency and then resigned in 2011 and opened Titano studio, his own communication reality. In 2013 he founded Novel Comix, the online platform of Italian comics, bringing together over 200 artists. In 2016 he became passionate about the world of tattooing becoming a tattoo artist, at the same time he opened a new advertising agency, We Are Layout. In April 2018 he founded Novel Academy, the artistic academy where he teaches drawing, painting, illustration and digital graphics.

A dynamic academy that helps aspiring Artists to develop skills and knowledge to success in their journey. At Novel Academy we teach drawing, painting, illustration and digital graphic techniques. I am passionate about portraits and human body and I always look in to the psychological reflection that the body image can communicate.
