The curious world of Wonderland is one we have grown up with, cherished, and marvelled over. It entranced us when we were children and has enamoured us as adults. Alas, one cannot help but question the quirks and idiosyncrasies of this mesmerising tale. What is the deeper meaning of all the strange occurrences that Alice experiences in her journey down the rabbit hole? Was she really dreaming, or did what we call ‘reality’ really bend itself for her? With Wonderland as a metaphor for life, this series investigates and ponders existential ideas and coming-of-age struggles in conjunction with themes of deception, political ambiguities and popular culture that are usually explored in my work. With Mughal miniature references as an ode to my training in this field, I comment on the human condition, history and society, and how the past, present and future are linked in a strangely complex but fascinating way.
