Reinventing the wheel is a phrase that means a generally accepted technique or solution is ignored in favour of a locally invented solution. To "reinvent the wheel" is to duplicate a basic method that has long since been accepted and even taken for granted.
The inspiration for this idiomatic metaphor lies in the fact that the wheel is the archetype of human ingenuity, both by virtue of the added power and flexibility it affords its users, . As it is not considered to have operational flaws, an attempt to reinvent it would be pointless and add no value to the object, as well as a waste of time
At the same time, however, reinventing the wheel is an important tool in the translation of complex ideas. Rather than providing viewers simply with a known landscape (see the centre of the canvas) I have instead have tried to build up the material anew, leaving the viewer to work out the reasoning.

Developing ideas and not just considering the medium as the ideas are expressed are the keys to my paintings.

I create images that I find pleasing and convey the idea behind the title phrase. I provide an environment for thought - a playground for the mind.

I invite the viewer to interact with the images and develop his or her own meanings from them. My advice to you when viewing my work is as follows?

Use your imagination!

Have fun!
