Sylvid, an artist from the Basque Country, grew up in an environment where the grandeur of the landscapes mixes with the marvelous and the irrational, coexisting with a calm and wise reality. This duality deeply marked his life experience and his perception of time.
The encounter of these distinct worlds and his fascination with the theme of solitude experienced as an instant of desolation, of extreme fragility, of inability to approach the (supposed) light of others, have shaped his artistic journey. Art, for her, is the reflection of these interconnected universes, the echo of beauty, of the experience of life, death, solitude and otherness.
Sylvid feels that abstract painting brings together the singular and the universal. Although her work also encompasses photography and expressionist portrait painting, it is through the creation of abstract and semi-abstract paintings that she finds her artistic space and freedom. She primarily uses acrylic paint, but also uses other mediums such as ink, charcoal, art chalks and various textures.
His artistic work is a constant exploration of color and light, symbolizing the search for the essential, the beauty and the meaning at the heart of these constantly interacting worlds.
